Procedure (37-49 minutes)
write an example of present simple tense on the board and give SS time to read the text again and find three more examples from the text
Students complete the gaps individually then check in pairs . During feedback , make sure students use the contracted form of don't
T asks SS to read study 1 on page 142 for more detailed explanation of the present simple : positive and negative ( I, You, We , They)
Practice 1: ask SS to complete the sentences and more information to make true for them. T completes the first couple as example. Give SS a few minutes to complete the other sentences.
t asks SS to work in pairs to complete the gaps from 1-5 with the words in the box then check the answers in pairs. T gives his feedback.
T asks look at practice 2a and write six sentences about them using the ideas in the box. T asks to work in pairs and compare their answers. T asks to find things they have in common
