The students will be asked to brainstorm about the future through questions to lead them. They will be able to speak freely and start to get involved in the lesson. They are also expected to use some of the vocabulary that they will encounter during the lesson.
Teacher will present the vocabulary by showing the pictures of them on board. After being exposed to the pictures, they will be asked to form two groups, stand in lines in front of the board and match the words with their pictures on the board. That will be a race and the winning team will be awarded.
"Touch game" will be played to make the students pronounce the words aloud and without hesitation as a group and individually.
Students will be asked "before reading questions" and they will talk about the future a little bit before they start reading. When they read the text, they will see some predictions made by scientists and they will try to analyze the possibility of the predictions. After reading, predictions like those of the scientists will be made by the students themselves. They will be able to comment on the life in the future.
Students will be given brief information about the video and they will be asked to catch some futuristic devices while watching the video. After seeing the video, they will be presented with some pictures of the devices from the video. The students will categorize them into two groups as "we have now and "we will have in the future".
Students will be handed out writing task worksheets on which there are tasks to make students communicate with each other in the future tense with the given vocabulary and to make them write about the future lives of themselves as a group. At the end of the task, they will be asked to present their typical days in terms of categories such as house, work, school, etc.
