Description
This micro teaching lesson is aimed for teenagers pre-intermediate students. Context based approach and Dictogloss technique will be used in this lesson. At the end of the lesson, students will have a clear and better understanding on using both Present Simple and Present Continuous.

Subsidiary Aims

To provide gist and scan reading practice using a text about Present Simple and Present Continuous in the context of Letters to the editor
Procedure (6-13 minutes)
Introduction (1-3 minutes) • To introduce the context to the students
The teacher will show 2 photos and ask the students what the people are doing.
Reading (2-4 minutes) • To provide the students with reading for gist task
The teacher will show 2 letters and ask the students to read them and to match them to the photos.
Introducing the target language. (3-6 minutes) • To guide the students towards the target language.
The teacher will give the students a hand out (HO-1). The Teacher will group the students accordingly and ask them to answer the questions. After the activity is finished, the teacher will end the lesson by giving a homework.
