Procedure (81-97 minutes)
T asks the question "What are the survival skills to keep you alive in an emergency or in the wilderness?" and have a short class discussion.
T shows a PPT on which words from the text are introduced by pictures and questions related to the context. Students will share their ideas with the class.
Ss work in pairs. T gives the text cut into paragraphs and stripes of paper the research questions are written. Ss match the research questions with the paragraphs and find the answers of the qs. T gives class feedback.
Ss work in pairs. They will identify the synonyms in close reading exercise in the book. Then they will match the definitions with three words in paragraph 3 by guessing their meanings from the context. T gives class feedback.
Ss work in pairs. T hands out worksheets, a paragraph with gaps which is a summary of the text. Ss complete it. Pairs check their answers with other pairs. T will give class feedback.
Ss work in groups of 4. Groups will found an environmental organization. They will find the purpose, the name, the logo and their first project. They will prepare a poster to introduce their organization and present it to the class.
