Procedure (34-49 minutes)
Introduce the concept and definition of "A cross border commuter", using Laura and her cross border commuter identity.
Share more information on Laura and her life as a cross border commuter, such as the fact that she works 3 days a week in London and 2 days in Barcelona. Give out the reading text on Laura and ask the students to read the text and answer the questions in pairs. Check answers as a whole class.
Ask the students to stay in their pairs and discuss what they think might be different about Laura's day in London and her day in Barcelona. Ask them to write down a few ideas and then share their ideas with the rest of the class.
Listen to the recording twice. Ask who got some right guesses.
Change Pairs. Hand out the Time table. Get them to listen to the audio again and fill in the missing information. Individual task but check in pairs and then check results with whole class. Class call out.
First exercise: Hand out the exercise completing the expression with the correct verbs, using pictures support. Get students to answer individually. Write on WB column with Breakfast, To work, A meeting, To the gym, Dinner. Ask individual students to come to the board and place flash card to the right option. Second exercise: In pairs, complete the table filling the gaps with the correct words for the collocations.
Ask the students to fill in the questionnaire for themselves. Separate class into two groups and mingle asking the same questions and filling the questionnaire on two other people.
