To give students practice in reading for detail in the context of an article about working dogs.
Subsidiary Aims

To provide review of present simple yes/no questions and to give students controlled speaking fluency.
Procedure (35-30 minutes)
Teacher will show pictures of dogs in various scenarios and elicit from students what they see. Teacher will ask students if they know the difference between work dogs and pets? Teacher will CCQ to ensure that students know the difference between working dogs and pets and the vocabulary of owner/pet. Teacher will ask questions, i.e., "do you have a dog?" and elicit answers and encourage speaking fluency practice.
Teacher will show students pictures and elicit from students the word or meaning being conveyed. Teacher will demonstrate through gestures and visual props. Teacher will demonstrate on WB to elicit vocabulary from students.
Teacher will give article to students to read and answer questions--Grp A with the Milo article and Grp B with the Bertie article. Teacher will review questions with students. WCF.
Students will pair up with student from opposite group to ask and answer the questions from exercise 2 HO.
Teacher will give students HO to construct questions using # 3-6, 8, 9 and 10. Teacher will demonstrate one example on the WB. Once the sentences are complete. Teacher will review questions, calling students to WB. WCF.
Teacher will pair up students from opposite group. Students will ask and answer the questions from Exercise 1.
Teacher will give HO for students to circle correct verb form.
