Main Aims

  • To provide gist listening practice using a text about School rules

  • To provide accuracy speaking practice in a Conversation
  • To provide practice of School rules Vocabulary

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

*Show Ss. a picture *ask Ss. some questions to elicit the topic open discussion in group then the whole class feedback

Pre-Listening (5-8 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

*set Ss. in pairs and give clear instructions about the first activity; listening for gist.

While-Listening #1 (5-8 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading/listening tasks

set Ss. in pairs and give clear instructions about the first activity; listen for gist.

While Listening #2 (5-8 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference reading/listening tasks

*Set Ss.in group and ask them (What are the rules at your school? Write a comment and tell us about it!) *Ss report on each other
