Description
In this lesson, students will use PW, games and GW to learn about numbers and how they are used. They will also use a listening exercise to understand the grammatical difference between "Is" and "Isn't."

Main Aims

The main aim in this TP is to familiarise students with the basic use of numbers in spoken English.
Subsidiary Aims

A subsidiary aim of the TP is help students learn the grammatical distinction between "Is" and "Isn't."
Procedure (33-43 minutes)
Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students
We will warm up with the use of a typical English Language Greeting conversation.
Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide a model of the task and highlight useful words and phrases
We will use GW, PW and T-S interaction to highlight the basic use of the numbers 1-10.
Task (8-10 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills
We will play several games to help students become comfortable with using basic numbers. We will use an auditory aid to help them with the basic grammatical distinction we will be discussing.
Report (6-8 minutes) • To allow students to report on how they did the task and how it went
I will monitor students as they engage in the TP-1 activities to elicit feedback and see how they are progressing.
Language Practice (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with practice of the task language
I will try to build rapport with students so that they might engage with the assigned tasks in a helpful way.
