Description

In this lesson Ss. will have the opportunity to read and speak about Airport . Ss. will answer a questions for gist and questions for details, and they will use Vocabulary of airport in a variety of activities.

Main Aims

  • To provide practice and clarification of Vocabulary including ((Passport control -baggage reclaim - the chick in desk -the plane-the arrival hall -the departure lounge))

Subsidiary Aims

  • Reading :To provide the Ss. with the practice in the skill of reading for gist in the context of At the airport

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-4 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Projected a picture of Airport Discuss of the following questions 1-why do people travel? 2-what travelling types do you prefer? 3-When was the last time you traveled ? 4-Have you ever been on a plane ? If yes, where did you go ? Ss. discus in group then the whole class feedback T elicit the topic from Ss.

Exposure (4-5 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

Set Ss. in group and give a clear insurrections about the first activity ; Reading for gist Ex.. read the text and choose the best title (my first flight/i love to travel /in the airport)

Highlighting (2-4 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language

project some photos about the airport parts to define the meaning Plan / Baggage reclaim /check-in desk/ the arrival hall /the departure lounge .

Clarification (4-5 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

Pass out Ho ,and ask the Ss. to work in group and give a clear instructions .. Look at the definitions and guess the word:   to go beyond the size or amount that is allowed = (……………..….) a place that someone is going to =(……………..…..) a place you weight your luggage=(………………….) a place where security officer checks you and scans your bags=(…………………) a piece of paper with which you travel=(……………………….) a place where you show your passport and get a boarding pass=(……………………..) a place where a security officer checks your luggage and goods =(………………….) a place where you collect your bags after travel=(…………………..) a bag that you take on the place with you =(……………………)

Controlled Practice (3-4 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

Set Ss. in group pass HO..give clear instruction where do you first when you travel by plane?put these places in the correct order Write 1 -5 on the left (-------) passport control. (-------)baggage reclaim. (-------)the check in desk (-------)the plane. (-------)the arrival hall. (-------)the departure lounge.

Semi-Controlled Practice (4-5 minutes) • To concept check further and prepare students for free practice

*pass out HO give clear instruction to work in group and correctly spell the words below ..the first letter of each word underlined .. monitor the activity peer correction if necessary

Free Practice (2-3 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

* Set Ss in group and ask them to speak about their last vacation * Ss report on each other.
