Description

In this lesson, students will focus on listening and speaking.First part is pronouncing and understanding parts of email and web-addresses correctly. Second part is listening and gist listening of personal data like telephone numbers and email.They will follow this up with a speaking about their own experience.

Procedure (34-51 minutes)

Lead-in (4-6 minutes) • To set the lesson context

Question:How many hours do you spend online?

Vocabulary ex 1,2,3 (10-15 minutes) • To get familiar with email and web-addresses

Ex.1: Firstly a quick dictation of web- and email- addresses.Students check their answers in pairs. Ex.2:T will write,@, ., www , / on the board. Elicit pronunciation. Ex.3:Students get a handout.In pairs they will dictate some email and web-addresses to each other.

Gist Listening, Listening For Details (12-18 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging \with more challenging detailed listening

Gist Listening:T will show pictures of three different locations and asks Ss to name what they are. Ss should try to match the pictures with the correct conversation. Let the Ss check their answers in pairs, then feedback with WC. Detail Listening:Ask students to look at the forms. Elicit the type of information they need to complete.Check in pairs.Ask Ss what the problem is in the second conversation.Handing out the transcript.

Speaking (8-12 minutes) • practice conversation

On the board:Do you often stay in hotels?Why? Why not? Have you been to a hospital? Why ? Why not? discussion in pairs.If time regroup them.
