Procedure (38-55 minutes)
T will post pictures of flags on the WB and elicit from students which country the flag represents. Once the countries are established, teacher will explain the correlation between country and nationality. Turkey/Turkish. Great Britain/British. America/American. France/French (different).
T will demonstrate on WB directions for exercise 2. Students will work individually to match country to nationality. WC will discuss answers.
T will use WB to introduce dialogue about country/nationality. T will hand out cards with name, country and nationality information. Students will use GW to practice speaking fluency through role playing. Following GW, each student will then be asked to speak their name, country and nationality. WCF.
Teacher will test student knowledge of colors by asking what colors are seen in the flags on the WB. Teacher will show pictures of various colors and elicit students to repeat the color. Teacher will then ask students to pair up and complete a match the correct items HO. WC discussion. WCF. Teacher will introduce objects to elicit WCF of newly introduced colors.
Teacher will give fill in the color HO to students to be used in PW. Students will fill the proper color into the sentence. Class discussion of answers. WCF.
Teacher will use GW (2 groups of approx. 8 students) to have students use Pelmanism exercise to match colors to vocabulary and flags to nationalities. After game is complete, groups will switch cards.
