Main Aims

  • By the end of the lesson Ss will be able to know the difference between the present simple and the past simple .Ss will have the opportunity to answer questions on the target language with the opportunity for both controlled and free activity.

Subsidiary Aims

  • by the end of the lesson Ss,will be exposed to new Vocabulary.(related to the video)

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

I will ask if they love videos.. And then will show to them the Video i prepared ask Ss about the video ask them to discus the content in pairs. Ss check the answers together and the then the whole class feedback T elicits the topic from Ss

Highlighting (2-4 minutes) • Worksheet about the Video

Watch the video and put the sentences in order.then Watch the video and write the past simple forms in the correct group.

Clarification (8-10 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

Project the Worksheet on the board and and ask Ss one by one to fill in the space.. Give them time to answer the grammar sheet. Monitor/anticipate problem and solutions. At the end Ss check the answers together and then the whole class feedback.

Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

project a worksheet on the board to choose the correct past tense to complete the sentence work Ss will answer one by one to check the understanding of the lesson and highlight the answers with Ss

Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

Give simple and clear instructions about the gist reading. ask Ss to read the first two My and then read the text quickly to get the answer. Monitor the activity. Ex: 1- I (ask) .......... a lot of questions. 2- She (talk)........ to fast. 3- Kara ((turn) ..........on the light. 4- My mom (bake).........the beast brownies. 5- Frank (answer) .........the phone. 6- Who (walk)......the dog.

Free Practice (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

T will ask Ss to write two sentence about their self using the past simple
