Description
The following lesson plan is for a micro lesson, which means this lesson will last 15 minutes. In this lesson, April fools will be used as a context to develop both speaking and reading skills of the students. The method that is going to be used in this lesson is The Direct Method. Techniques involved are the following:

Main Aims

To provide accuracy speaking practice in a Conversation in the context of April Fools
Subsidiary Aims

To provide scan and gist reading practice using a text about Jokes in the context of April Fools
Procedure (8-15 minutes)
Introduction Stage (1-3 minutes) • To introduce the topic of the lesson
The T shows a picture of April 1st and try to elicit April Fools from the students by asking the following question: "s there something that all people do in this time?"
Pre-Reading Stage (1-3 minutes) • To make the students brainstorming
The T shows the Ss pictures (First exercise) and asks the students to look at the pictures A - D and asks: "What do you think was the April Fool's Day joke for each picture?"
While Reading Stage (1-3 minutes) • To provide the students with a gist and specific information reading task
The T gives another handout 2 and asks the Ss to read the text and check their ideas.
Post-Reading (5-6 minutes) • To practice speaking through using some connectors and comparing and contrasting.
The T group the Ss and gives them a handout 3 and asks the Ss to solve the exercise. The T will do the first one as a demo.
