Procedure (39-54 minutes)
Introduction. T will ask them if they have a car and if they remember their number plates.
T gives instructions for the first activity T gives HO to ss to work individually and asks ss to circle the correct form of the verb. T asks ss to check the answers with the person next to them. T works with the WC checking the answers.
T writes on WB; note: verb in colour. I’m Mr Forbes. It isn’t my car. Is it the red car? No, it isn’t. T writes on WB; Positive (+) : Subject + main verb Negative (-) : Subject + main verb + not Question (?) : Main verb + subject T gets the WC to help write different forms of the verb Affirmative forms Subject Full Contracted Pro-nouns form Form I am ‘m You are ‘re He/she/it is ‘s We are ‘re They are ‘re T talks about the use of contracted form.
T asks ss to use the same HO and do Conversation exercise 2, work individually and asks ss to circle the correct form of the verb. T asks ss to check the answers with the person next to them. T works with the WC gets FB.
T asks ss to change seats. T gives clear instructions before HO and does the first example Q with the WC. T gives HO to ss and asks them to rewrite the sentences. T helps them during this task. T asks ss to check answers with the person next door. T gets WC-FB.
T to put ss in 2 groups T to give clear instruction on how to play the game T to HO a picture of a different famous Turkish person to each group Groups will ask eachother questions using interrogative form of the verb by using vocabulary given (not limited to) and try to guess who the famous person is.
T gives instruction before HO. T HO activity sheet. In pairs, students put the sentences on sheet in correct order. Ss to read out the sentences in WC.
T HO a grammar sheet for students to take home to use as reference. T check understanding. If T hasn't fallen apart by this point, she will have a large cup of tea :)
