Procedure (33-45 minutes)
T presents a video about famous places for tourism in Egypt (90 sec) and asks students about: Do you know these places? Have you ever visited them? Which places they like most? why? Students speak in pairs. T presents feedback.
T presents some pictures and elicit meaning .(town, castle , factory, square , beach, swim, sightseeing, diving, snorkeling, historical places, tomb, monuments, souvenirs, sunbed, pyramids) Drill the words before presenting the words. present some clues and CCQs when needed. T writes the words on the w/b.
T asks students to look at the two pictures and asks : Do you know which city is it? then T asks students to read quickly (2 minutes) and fill in the gaps. T presents answers to two of the missing words as a demonstration. T asks is this in present simple, past or present continuous? students fill in the gaps individually.( 3 min.) students check in pairs. T monitors and presents feedback. T distributes the answer key.
T sticks some pictures of touristic places in Egypt. T cuts some coloured papers into halves and distributes them. T asks students to choose a picture for each and asks students to write a message to their friends about their holiday. T asks them to keep their choice as a secret from their peers. T presents two ways of writing the message , either by using the reading text as a model or answer the questions : ( 7 min.) 1. Are you having a good time? 2. where are you at the moment? 3. When did you arrive? 4. Where are you staying? 5. What are you doing ? 6. what did you do yesterday? 7. Say something about the town / city. 8. say what you usually do in the evening. T asks them to use the new vocabulary n the board? T monitors and presents help when needed. T asks them to check in pairs. T asks students to exchange each others message say which picture matches with the written message.
T selects some sentences that have mistakes and writes them on the board. T discusses and corrects errors.
