The answer is only the word "work" it's okay if the Ss cannot get it just tell them the answer and move to next slide. slide 2: Students work in pairs and answer the two questions: 1- Is your job difficult or easy? 2- What qualities do you need to have for your job? Students discuss for 2 minutes. Listen to some of the answers.
Show the students an example on PowerPoint slide 3. Give the students the empty table in which they can categorise the words and phrases. Make sure students understand the heading of each column. Students work in pairs for this task and they discuss their opinions while doing the task. Monitor the students during the task. Feedback: listen to some of the differences between partners.
Use PowerPoint slides to elicit the words from the students. Tell them that they can look at the words in the categorising activity. For the words with problems of pronunciation try to drill before showing the written word. Ask CCQs for the words: - Physically fit: point to yourself and ask: do you think I can be a male model? (no) why not? (because I'm not physically fit). /'fizikli/ - People skills: If you have good people skills... are you good at making friends? (yes) are you good at working with your colleagues as a team? (yes) - Secure: when you have a secure job... Do you always feel afraid of losing your job? (no) Do you feel safe? (yes) Focus on pronunciation of: well-organised (we lorganised) and opportunities /ɒpəˈtjuːnɪtiz/
Give them the HO with the rephrasing activity extracted from the workbook. Give clear instructions using the example; show that the phrase in the example "passed a lot of examinations" has the same meaning of "have qualifications" Make sure they have the first categorising activity so that they can find the vocabulary items in it. Monitor the students during the task and note down any mistakes. ask the students to check their answers in pairs. Give feedback using a printed answer key.
