To provide students with practice in listening and reading for gist and detail from context through programme commercials of a TV channel.
Subsidiary Aims

To provide students a practice for speaking about describing personal experiences.
Procedure (42-56 minutes)
Ask students "What's your dream holiday?". Tell them to share ideas with pairs for 1-2 minutes. Try to elicit some answers and write on the board.
After eliciting students' answers for former question, tell them some people like adventurous holidays and they also like to look for an adventure during their holidays. Play the video. Draw a mind map on the board, try to elicit some of the activities in the video. Then place the visuals of the text on the board, and ask ss the names of the activities. Also, give example to clarify the meaning of long-haul flight.
Tell students to read the text quickly and match pictures with TV programmes, individually. Remind them that they don't need to understand all the words. Set the task for 2 minutes. Pair Check and then whole class feedback.
Ask ss to read the instruction of ex2a. Ask them to check if they understand what to do. Play the audio and play it again if it's necessary. Tell them to check their answers with pairs. In WCFB ask them how they understand. Try to elicit word "Australia". Tell ss that they are going to listen a short part and find the answer of the question. PC/WCFB. After feedback ask ss how the friends are feeling about their trip. "Excited, nervous" ask why, and try to elicit the answers of "It's new for them. It's the first time for them".
Tell ss to read the instruction of ex2c. Tell them to check the options in the task. Ask them what to do to check ss' understanding. Play the audio. Monitoring. PC/WCFB. If some questions' answers are not clear, play the audio again. Tell ss to focus on that questions.
Show ss the pictures again and them to think about the listening text and if they've ever gone a holiday/trip like one of them. According to the answers ask them why / why not, and make them to work in groups of 3-4 and discuss about the question. Monitor while they discuss and make notes for feedback.
