Procedure (31-43 minutes)
Teacher will play a video about natural disaster and how people should respond to protect themselves from danger. After that, teacher and students will have a small discussion about natural disasters and share their experiences.
Teacher will write the new words on the board without the definition. and have the students repeat the words many times until they get the right pronunciation.
each student will be give a paper. what's written on the papers is the new words, the definition, synonyms and an example sentence with a question. example: word: Hazard synonyms: danger, risk example sentence: something that can cause harm or injury Question: what else can be hazard to people who are driving? students will have to ask each other what they have on their papers until everyone matches. the student with the new word should look for the right definition and synonyms and example sentence.
after students find their match, they will give the rest of the class a short presentation about their new word the meaning the pronunciation and the form teacher will be monitoring and correcting any spelling and mistakes.
students will do a short practice on page 21 of the English workbook to practice writing the new words and clarify the meaning one more time. teacher will be monitoring and ready to answer any question.
