Description
In this lesson, students will learn about past simple, past continuous tenses and syllables. The context is memory. The students will start underlining past simple verbs, continue with circling past continuous tense. Last two parts of the lesson will focus on reading a text and filling in the correct form to the verbs, listening to voice files and naming the number of syllables.

Procedure (27-35 minutes)
Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students
I am going to start the lesson with how many brain cells I lost since the last lesson. This is a part of the memory section that was covered on Tuesday. I will continue with the introduction of today's lesson
Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation
I will hand out one of Zafer's worksheets and do a different exercise related to the same topic.
Clarification (8-10 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language
İ will go over the descriptions of past simple and past continuous tenses and hand out another worksheet
Semi-Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check further and prepare students for free practice
When the written and audio exercises are completed, I will introduce syllables and explain how to figure out how many syllables are in a word. There are two audio files to cover.
