Description

in this lesson Ss learn about movie genres through discussing different movies which Ss have watched. the lesson starts with a discussion about cinema and movies then it's followed by pair working. finally there is a game to stabilize the vocab. we will gain understanding of meaning and practice pronunciation together.

  • To provide fluency speaking practice in a conversation in the context of movie genres

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (7-10 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

there is a discussion about cinema and movies which students have watched then i name my favorite movies and also want them mention some interesting movies.

Clarification (10-15 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

Ss explain their feeling about some movies for instance if a movie make them cry or make them laugh then i have brainstorm about movie genres.

Controlled Practice (10-15 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

We will have group match, i start dumb show and act different genres each of the students guesses sooner it's his turn to act.

Semi-Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check further and prepare students for free practice

I mention movies and the students should say their genre and also they can talk with their friends and ask their favorite and i correct any noticeable mistake in their pronunciation.
