Procedure (45-55 minutes)
T projects pictures of things that are against law such as wrong parking ,throwing garbage where it shouldn't be..etc. Ss make comments upon these pictures using opinion words of their choice without T interference.
T checks the words and phrases in bold the asks students to classify them which ones related to to having more rights and freedom ,and which ones relate to having laws and fewer rights. Ss will classify the sentences in part b of ex 1 as positive or negative .(pair work )
T demonstrates how opinions are related to the speaker .Use of "I". T asks CCQs and elicits from students expressions like " I think that ...."I don't think.." " It seems to me .... the same procedure will be used to elicit expressions of agreement or disagreement and presenting views of the whole group.
Ss will be divided into three groups.Each group will read some of the statements .*Ss will discuss among each other and tell which of these ideas are already the law in the country. *Ss will mark the controversial statements ,discuss them among each other then give their opinions using words like :agree ,disagree or or neutral . *Each group will choose a representative to share their opinions with the other groups. After he finishes ,the representative of each group will nominate the next participant.
While students are giving their opinion,T takes notes of errors and corrects them at the end.
