Subsidiary Aims

To provide specific information listening practice using a text about Keswick (a city) in the context of places in a city
Procedure (35-45 minutes)
Ss are asked questions about their cities
Some sentences of ss are written on the w/b
Ss look at the w/b and see the new grammar structures.
Ss talk about the new structures and answer some CCQs. Grammar rules are shown. Examples are given. HO1 is given.
Ss are given Ex.8 on s/b p.39. They fill the gaps. Check them with their partners.
Ss are given the answers with a listening (R.5.3). They check again with their partners. FB is given as a w/c. Drilling starts.
Ss are given task 9 on p.39. They start as a PW. They check with their partners.
Ss are given the answers with a listening (R.5.4). They check again with their partners. FB is given as a w/c. Drilling starts.
Ss are given task 2 on workbook. They are given some time and ss work as pairs. Then they check with other groups. FB is given as a w/c. They are given task 3 on workbook. Again they are given some time and ss work as pairs. Then they check with other groups. FB is given as a w/c.
Ss are given a picture (HO1, p.3). As groups, they are expected use new structures in their sentences.
