Procedure (31-39 minutes)
Display a number of pictures on the wall .These pictures are of play risk .Ask students to stand up ,have a look at the pictures and gather information about them all. Students go back to their places .I divide them into small groups and and I will ask them to find the common share between all pictures .
T displays the title of the article on the board . T pre-teaches vocabulary such as "sdentary ,abduction, strangulation" T asks ss to predict the content through a gist question : What do you think the text is going to be about?. ICQ: T checks the distribution of groups ,see if some ss are not among a group and check the instruction .
Predictions: ss give their predictions in relation to the article .Encourage the right or closer ones but don't frustrate the wrong ones. Based on their answers ,prepare ss for reading for specific information. Show them the questions , tell them to read these questions before reading the article within about 1 minute.then they have to read the article and answer the questions with information from the article. ICQ: Are you going to read loudly ?No. Are you going to giver other pieces of inf rather than the ones you are asked to give ?No. Are you going to give long sentences?No . When they finish ,students will check their answers with close pairs . then in small groups of three. T hands out answer keys and students will check their answers .
SSwill be divided into small groups of threes so as to practise guided speaking. I will give them prompts about paly risk ,and ask them to discuss the issue with their partners. ss will talk about play risk and formulate a kind of oral comment on the arguments of each other . Do they agree ?do they disagree? why and why not . ICQs: Are you going to write ?No Are you going to discuss things ?YES.
