To provide review of vocabulary and listening skills in the context of something they have seen, read or listened to recently
Procedure (32-45 minutes)
International Festival of Carthage programme T asks if anyone has attented or interested in attending any shows at the Festival. Move on: after ss elicit the word "concert" Pron: /ˈkɒn·sət/ Ask ss what type of concerts exist (Rock, classical, hip hop, pop, R&B, jazz...etc)
Pre-teach the following words: -a musical /ˈmjuː.zɪ.kəl/ (drill) -Ballet /ˈbæl.eɪ/ (drill) -A play /pleɪ/ -Set /set/
T sets up activity: - Now you're going to listen to three people talking about something they've seen, tead or listened to. T gives ss instructions: - Listen to the recording carefully and try to fill the missing information in the table (HO1) - You're going to use short answers - For the third and forth column, try and write down at least one strong and weak point for each speaker. ICQ's: - What are going to do? - Are you going to write long answers that won't fit in the table? T gives ss HO1 Ss listen to the recording Post-listening : - T choses one student to answer for each speaker - T displays key answers on the board (ppt)
T selects a free speaking activity Set scene: Ss are going to give a review about something they've seen, read or listened to recently to a friend. It can be a bad or good review. T gives clear instructions: - ss will chose something to talk about from Ex1 -T will model possible things to say+drill ICQ's Preperation time: 5mins Activity takes place: T choses a volunteer to speak first
