Procedure (35-44 minutes)
T continues with the same context from previous lessons which is '' neighbors''. T asks SS about the neighbor of course. Elicits some compound nouns.
T tells SS to read the sentences 1-4 about local features (10A). Chests it out. Task before text. Then find and underline compound nouns, p-p check, WCFB. After they are done with 10A, T gives them task of 10B. P-p check, WCFB.
T reads the tip with the class. Writes shop, teacher and bag on the board in three separate sections. Divide the class into three groups. SS try to come up with new compound nouns with the nouns given. As feedback T elicits, checks comprehension, drills then writes on the board. Tells SS that it is difficult to know when compounds are written together, separately or with a hyphen and they should check dictionary.
T tells the students, they will complete the compound nouns with given words(11A). Elicits the first question. SS work individually then check together but WCFB will be given in with listening. The process continues with a listening activity which will also provide FB for 11A. T tells SS to work out stress patterns as they listen. P-p check then WCFB. The first word is usually stressed.
T tells SS they will play a game that's called '' mayor of the town''. Each SS will try to be mayor through an election. To be elected SS should prepare some ''promises'' using compound nouns. T gives out 9B to provide guidance and gives 5 minutes to SS for preparing ''promises''. Then SS will read out their promises and try to get a vote from other SS. As a backup plan T can also ask compound nouns of Beşiktaş to further practice target language.
