Procedure (24-45 minutes)
Teacher shows the pictures of Andrew Johnson and asks SS to recall what they know about his life. Students are expected to give answers as to the subject person and teacher gives chance to SS to join the lead-in part of the lesson.
Teacher gives SS handouts in which true/false statements are placed. Students work in pairs and compare answer with each other. Teacher monitors and pick up points where SS have trouble and provides feedback afterwards.
Students are asked to work with a partner on each line about Andrew. After the first listening, SS compare answers in pairs, teacher monitors and provides feedback afterwards.
Teacher reviews, models and drills third person -s and introduces, models and drills negative and question forms. Backchain for longer utterances. Teacher provides some other examples concerning the grammer subject and ask students a few questions in the same context. Students are also asked to listen and practise the pronunciation of does and doesn't. Teacher models and drills.
Students are expected to work with a partner to first make predictions of exercise two and then compare answers with each other. Teacher asks students to listen, monitors and provides feedback.
Teacher asks students to look at the picture of Claudia and recalls their knowledge through speaking exercise. Students are expected to work in pairs and ask questions about Claudia Luke. Teacher monitors and asks some of them to tell their questions and answers. If there is enough time, teacher asks SS to make role-playing exercise through the text of Claudia Luke.
