Procedure (39-50 minutes)
T will introduce the context by showing a map of Australia and eliciting the capital cities. Then the teacher will move on with the must-know facts about Melbourne with the help of an infographic. T will elicit the facts from students with the help of ICQ. Students will look at the photoes in HO and read the facts. T will use CCQs.
Students will look at the photoes in HO and read the facts. Then they will listen the questionnaire about life in Melbourne and tick the correct answers. In this part T will devide the audio into two parts and SS will listen to the second part as a check point. Pair check and WCFB will be done.
The tacher will provide SS with a HO showing useful language. First the T will demonstrate the patterns and give optional questions. SS will ask and answer the questions by doing PW. T will write some random answers to the board and SS will answer the questions according to the info on the board.
Then the T will show two similar photoes about BBQ custom and will lead the students to talk about their hometown. T will give HO which includes useful language to ask and answer questions. T will do demonstration, eliciting, and drilling and SS will ask and answer questions by doing PW. After giving the instructions T will only monitor from a safe distance and will not involve in the speaking.
