Procedure (33-47 minutes)
-The teacher will show a photo of one of her flashbulb memories. -The students will talk about a flashbulb memory in their lives. -Handing out the page about flashbulb memories in foreign countries. -Students will match the events to the photos.
- Matching the words with the definitions. Peer check, then whole group check. - Asking some CCQ to be sure if the students have understood the new words. Who is a famous psychologist? Is getting a proposal or going to school a striking event? Is amygdala a part of our heart or brain? Is brown or red a vivid color? Do both good and bad events lay down memories? How? Think of Baris Manco. Is his long hair,rings and big moustache idiosyncratic to him?
-Letting the students watch the video once to find the mentioned memories in activity 1a. -ICQ Are you going to write or just tick? Where are the answers? -Peer check
-Students are allowed to read the questions for a minute. -Watching the video and trying to answer the questions at the same time. -They can watch one more time after teacher`s monitoring if necessary. -Answer key is on the board for the students.
-Students are directed to excercise 5a -Thinking about a flashbulb memory in their or another country (they can also search online) -They take notes to share with their peers later
