Main Aims

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Ss look at pictures to elicit "electronic devices" Ss discuss in small groups which ones they can't live without and why W/C FB

Pre-Reading/Listening (3-5 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

Show Ss a picture and ask them to guess "who Vishal is talking to" Pre-teach vocab.

While-Listening #1 (5-8 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information listening tasks

Ss listen to the recording and see if any of their guesses are correct Ss to the recording to answer two questions "what's the problem?" "Do they manage to solve the problem?" Ss discuss the answers to the question 1 and 2 in pairs W/C FB

While-Listening #2 (5-8 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference listening tasks

Ss put the summary in order individually Ss check in pairs Play the recording again if necessary W/C FB

While-Listening #3 (10-15 minutes) • To deduct vocabulary that can be used in the context of giving instructions

Ss work in pair to match the verbs to the right picture W/C FB Ss fill in the conversation using the words from the box Pair check Play the recording for Ss to check Ss work in pairs to find three pairs of verbs that are opposite and two that have the same W/C FB Do some drilling and focus on linking

Post-Reading/Listening (8-10 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned
