Procedure (43-55 minutes)
-T is going to tell students about a person who I admire or respect and tell them why. -T is going to ask them to work in pairs and choose a person they respect or admire and tell me about the reasons.
- Tell Ss: They are going to listen about famous people. -T is going to give them a gist question before listening. When did Nelson Mandela became the president of South Africa? -They are going to answer individually. --Monitoring closely to check pronunciation. -Ask them to check their answers in pairs. -T makes them listen again but this time to answer detailed quesions.
- Start clarification for positive characteristics. -Elicit and clarify the meaning of these new adjectives. (courageous-determined- ambitious-imaginative-tolerant- talented- hardworking-original) -CCQs for any difficult vocabulary. Drill pronunciation of vocabulary. -Write the words on the board.
-Arranging Ss in new pair groupings. -Distribute HO1 practice to each pair. -They are going to answer (choose the correct answer) Ask ICQs . -Demonstrate -Monitoring to check their understanding. -Check in pairs -Key answer.
-They are going to write four sentences about two characters in the student book.
Arrange SS in new pairs . -Each pair will be divided into A and B . -A asks B to describe aperson he or she admire. -B answers -After some time Ss will change roles. -Demonstrate in open pairs. -Ss practice. -T monitors. -Feedback
