Procedure (55-69 minutes)
T will begin with a warm welcome. As it will be one of the first few lessons, a a virtual basketball game would be a great warmer, the T will ask all the ss to make a line which will start from the student who studies the most and ending with the one who studies the least. Then the teachers will throw the ball to a student who will speak his/her name after catching it, they'll need to do the same with some other student. after about a couple of minutes the T will stop this and then throw the ball at a student speaking their name himself/herself. The student whose name is spoken will need to do the same. In the end the students will be asked to settle down on their seats.
T will begin a slide show with pictures of Sara, Jenny and Greg in situations that bring them happiness. T explains things that can make people happy. T will elicit from ss, "What are other things that are not pictured, but that can lead to happiness?"
The T will ask the ss to listen to the recording and note down two things each, which make these people happy. Then will play the recording again and will ask students to answer the questions in worksheet 1. After they're finished, the ss will be asked to discuss the answers within their groups, meanwhile T will be monitoring and assessing. In the end the one volunteer (preferably) will be asked to answer the question from each group.
T will explain the different properties of verb forms and their application when asking asking question using the Language and grammar analysis sheet. Then the worksheet 2 will be given to the ss, to solve in pairs. Then ask the pairs to check and discuss answers with other pairs, meanwhile T will need to monitor and assess the ss understanding. Feedback will be given to selected pairs.
The T will identify new pairs and change the seating plan of the whole class. Student A and student B sheet will be distributed to the ss and they'll be asked to solve all the five questions from the words given to them in the worksheets. After they're finished, the pairs will be asked to ask each the questions which they've devised.
The T will ask the ss to make a list of ten things that make them happy, for example: 1. go out for a meal with friends 2. gaming and then T will ask everyone to stand up and swap their list with someone else in the class and write one question to ask about each thing on their new partner's list like: 1. When did you last go out for a meal with friends? 2. Which game do you like? Note: Effective monitoring will be required during this activity.
