Main Aims

To provide the Ss with chance to speak and produce the target language in context of films.
Subsidiary Aims

To teach vocabulary for films and different film styles.
Procedure (19-35 minutes)
- I will show Ss an Oscar picture and I will ask them: What do you think it is? For what they are giving this statue? Is it an award? -I want to elicit from Ss words Oscar and films to set the lesson context.
- I will give Ss a HO with pictures and films vocabulary to match the style of the film with the picture. - Ss will work alone but later they can check their answers. Together we will check the answers on the board. - I will ask them few questions about film styles: Have you ever seen a musical? Which musical did you see? Did you like it? - I will show Ss few film posters and ask them what style is it? Ss will do this activity in groups by matching the film styles with the posters. - I will give Ss text for skimming with one question: Which of those people don't work on a film? -Later I will ask them 5 question about the text so they can look it one more time but this time they should find specific informations.
- I will give Ss a HO with 5 questions about their film styles preferences. Which film do you like? What is the film style? Where is it set? Who are the actors? What is it about? They will work in pairs. Later we will go through their anwers.
- I will show Ss an Oscar statue made from paper and ask them to imagine that they are going to win an Oscar so they can prepare speach for that occasion. - Ss can choose in which category they can win that Oscar.
-while Ss are doing their activity I will be monitoring them. I will collect a selection of their error and then after the activity I will write some of them on the board and ask Ss to correct them.
