Procedure (28-42 minutes)
I will lead in by mentioning and writing one of the names from the reading context, which is Kelly. And continue asking more questions about Kelly.
I will quote one of the questions from the text in the students book page no. 20 and make students elicit about the tense and meaning and form of the sentence
I will again quote one more sentences from the reading text and elicit the answers from the students and explain the meaning grammar using PPP method, i.e. by student elicitation and then explain the form and finally pronunciation and practice
I will set an example with a volunteer student and a realia which will be a book or a pen. After this demonstration students will be asked to find the sentences from the text, where past continuous and past simple are used together.
I will give students the flash card which contain the picture and other flash card containing questions. Students will check the picture first and then answer the questions. This will be done in groups, and students will discuss the picture card first before answering the questions.
Students will be given a sheet with some questions, whose answer will be in past continuous tense and students will be asked to discuss those questions with their peers Note: if students find this task easy the teacher will make it difficult by extending questions and making students to get more details from their partners
