To provide gist and scan reading practice using a text about mandatory volunteering in the context of schools

Procedure (31-39 minutes)
Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students
The ss will talk about what volunteering is by having a photo of volunteered people on the board.
Pre-Reading (10-12 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible
The ss will scan the text to have some main ideas by trying to answer the questions.
While-Reading (10-12 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading/listening tasks
Ss will have to evaluate the sentences to decide whether they are true or false.
Post-Reading (8-10 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned
The teacher reflects some photos on the board that the ss study at the beggining of the lesson to guess the meaning of them to practice vocabulary.
