Main Aims

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Teacher will talk about successful achievements and elicit for students their life experince

Test #1 (3-7 minutes) • To gauge students' prior knowledge of the target language

Students will listen to a record about famous twins and answer MCQs the check in pairs then check with the teacher

Teach (5-10 minutes) • To clarify areas of the target language where students had difficulty in the first test stage

Teacher will ask the students if they know which tense that used in the last record. they probably wouldn't know so the teacher will clarify the target language which is present perfect I/We/You/They + have + Past Participle. He/She/It + has + Past Participle. And teach them what is the positive , negative and question forms.

Test #2 (2-5 minutes) • Check students' use of the target language again and compare with the first test

Students will complete a chart about the positive ,negative and question form then check with the teacher. Then teacher give the students another exercise which is complete a dialogue since they learned the target language so this exercise is to make it stay in their heads.

Teach (5-10 minutes) • To gauge students' prior knowledge of the target language

Teacher will teach the students about the contractions and it's definition which is a word made by shortening and combining two words. Words like can't (can + not), don't (do + not), and I've (I + have) are all contractions and also ('s) = has in present perfect but can also be (is) or possessive ('s) and write an example on the board: He's been to Japan = He visited japan and came back. He's gone to Japan = He's in Japan now. Before typing the meaning of each sentence make the students guess the meaning first.

Test #3 (1-3 minutes) • Check students' use of the target language again and compare with the second test

Students will solve 8 questions about the writing the contractions of has/have in the positive or negative form.

Free practice (2-5 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

Discussion about any achievements the students have done
