Main Aims

To provide gist, scan, detailed and inference reading practice using a text about travel in the context of go on a trip with backpacks

Subsidiary Aims

To provide fluency speaking practice in a interview in the context of how to travel
To provide review of lexis related to travel in the context of travel with backpacks

Procedure (30-42 minutes)

Warmer/Lead-in (5-7 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Show a picture of travelers on the road who are singing. Ss discuss what these travelers are doing, Ss work in pairs. initiate the give ideas about vocabulary items necessary.

Pre-Reading/Listening (5-7 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

give them Ho of papers access online. Ss fill in the blank, work in individually, then share your answers.

While-Reading/Listening #1 (5-7 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading/listening tasks

Give Ss Hos of ex.3 on page 90.Ss decide which sentence is correct. Ss work individually, then share your answers.
