Procedure (41-54 minutes)
- Teacher chests paper one -T elicits "What is this?" -Teacher writes on the board: "Do you think it is possible or impossible to solve this puzzle under an hour? Why?" - T says 'talk to your partner" - T pairs the students - T groups the students to discuss -T says "I think it is possible." - T takes a poll "Raise your hand if you agree, raise your hand if you disagree", T writes the results on board - T elicits answers from two sides
-T shows the handout -T changes the pairs -Teacher says "Now divide the words" -Ss check in groups -T hands out answer key
- Ss unfold the paper -Ss match the suffixes with their meaning in pairs -Ss match the prefixes with their meaning in pairs -T hands out answer key - T ask "Is there any pair who got all correct?, one mistake?..."
- T groups the students - T hands out A3 papers - T gives instructions " put as many words as possible" - After they finish, students put papers on the wall -Students check other papers. -T hands out all possible answers. -Ss check their score
- T hands out gap-fill activity. - Ss complete it individually. - Ss check in pairs. - T projects on board. - Ss come to the board and fill them (immediate peer feedback)
- T pairs the students. - T hands out prompt questions - Ss discuss questions in pairs - Ss change partners - T gruops the students ( 4 in 1 group) - Ss tell others what they talked about - If there is time, T elicits answers from the ss
