Main Aims

  • To provide fluency speaking practice in a Debate in the context of Activities

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide product writing practice of a Report in the context of Activities

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-10 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

T will greet ss. T will ask them to start reading the text and underline the past tenses and new vocabularies.

Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide a model of production expected in coming tasks through reading/listening

T will give ss a handout and will want them read it first. Then s/he will play the listening task and want them to read and listen simultaneously.

Productive Task(s) (18-20 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills

T will give ss a picture and want them to dwell on it for a few minutes, afterward s/he will ask them to explain what they perceive from the pic and help their friends in explaining.

Feedback and Error Correction (8-10 minutes) • To provide feedback on students' production and use of language

T will want ss to listen carefully and note down the speaking errors of their friends when they notice them. After the task T will want ss to give her the papers and check if they have fully grasped the issue.
