Description

In this lesson, students learn about the countable and uncountable nouns and how they can use a/an, some/any for these nouns through guided discovery on a reading text about meals. The lesson starts with discussion about the reading. Then teach them the grammar (MFP). Finally ask them to talk about their last day meals by use countable and uncountable nouns.

Procedure

exposure and highlighting (0-5 minutes) • expose students to the target language

-Give students handouts which include the reading text -Give students questions from the text that are related to the grammar -check their answers in pairs -write

Clarification (5-20 minutes) • Elicit the use and the form

-Write three sentences from the text on the board which are the answers of the questions -Use CCQs to elicit the meaning of a/an, some,any -Use CCQs to elicit the form -Write the form on the board -Drill sentences to clarify the pronunciation

Controlled Practice (20-25 minutes) • to practice thr target language

-Give them handout -Ask them to check their answers in pairs -write the answers on the board

Semi-controlled Practice (25-35 minutes) • provide students using target language

-Give them handout sheets -Ask them to check their answers in group -Write the answers on the board

practice (35-45 minutes) • Speaking

-give them the sheet which includes foods name -ask them to talk about meals which they ate last day in pair to use target language -ask them to share in class
