Procedure (42-49 minutes)
I will immediately put the students into groups of four and space them throughout the room for easier monitoring. After chesting and indicating the first task, students will then receive the handout and discuss the first two questions in their groups for 2 minutes. A brief whole class feedback will follow.
Individually, students will read the introduction then in groups they will discuss the five questions, the last two of which prompt conditional responses.
This is a 6-part listening series with accompanying questions. Each part will be played twice and they will answer the questions in groups of 3 or 4.
Students will receive the grammar questions and work on them individually then peer check. Answers will be covered on the board via slides.
On Google Slides I will show students some examples of the two forms. From this information and the worksheet we will have reviewed, I will challenge them to formulate rules in their groups. After three minutes, groups will share what they came up with and I will then show the rules on the next slide.
Students will work in pairs and complete another set of basic exercises, followed by a more challenging set if time permits.
