Main Aims

To provide scan and detailed reading practice using a text about E-shopping in the context of an internet website and situations.
Subsidiary Aims
-
To provide fluency and accuracy speaking practice in a conversation and discussion in the context of online shopping
Procedure (39-49 minutes)
-T greets SS and asks 1-2 random questions about shopping/online shopping -T shows powerpoint combination of online shopping websites -T asks two related questions and SS discuss a few minutes in groups -T elicits some opinions about online shopping
-T gives instruction before handout -T gives the HO with the vocabulary and their definitions -SS will work in pairs and try to match the vocabulary with the definition -T monitors -Once they finish, they will check in their groups -To conclude, T gives the answer key which will be sticked under the desk beforehand -As the main aim is not vocabulary, there will be no need for drilling
-T gives the SS the website and the sentences with the situations -T gives time to work in groups on the matching -SS are supposed to match which situation fits the right section on the website -After SS are finished they check in groups the answers -T reflect the website on the board and some SS are invited to put the letter on the correct place -T will do whole class FB and correction if needed
-T gives three other longer sitations cut-ups -SS do detailed reading this time and work individually -After reading, T does peer check and then group check -Once again, SS come to the board to write the number in the correct place -T does correction if needed and takes feedback
-T will regroup SS by giving numbers -half of the SS will have questions 1,2,3 while the other half has 3,4,5 -SS are expected to work in groups and answer the related comprehension questions by discussing them together -Once each group has finished, they have to share their answers with the other half and give them information about the situations.
