Procedure (39-45 minutes)
T gives students 2 sets of cards with different colours. SS work in groups. 4x4 / 4x5 ( depends on the attendancy ) SS match cards to make a whole sentence. Clarify if there is new vocabulary. doubt: definition: not to be sure involve: to include someone in something envy: to wish that you had something that another person has.
Students will be given HO. SS have already matched T's personalized sentences. Students do exercise 1a individually. SS tell each other their sentences. Feedback: number students: 1 to 8 x 2 Demonstrate feedback: Ask a student Wh- questions. -Does the colour of this shirt suit me? -What kind of people do you really respect? -What kind of people do you envy? -Who do you trust completely? -What would happen if he/she saw you? Monitoring.
Project the airport on the WB. Try to elicit some of the activities mentioned in ex 3. write modal verbs on the board. could/might/may/will (modal verbs possibilities & predictions SS do exercise 3a. The will have 30 seconds. (S-C) demonstrate: I am so bored of waiting. Any suggestions? You could/may... text your friends/ talk to the other passengers/... I will do some shopping. Will you join me? Where will we go? I will ''probably'' ''have a meal''. Tell students to imagine that they are at the airport. SS do exercise 3b. SS work in pairs. Feedback: T asks students what their plan is. Feedback; T asks Students what their partners do/have done. Partner confirms.
Listening 1 SS listen to a radio news programme. SS tell each other what they understood. PW Feedback: What do these people do generally? Listening 2 SS will be given the text. SS listen again. Fill in the gaps with one word. One student has the answer key. Plays the teacher.
Role play activity Students work in pairs. One is the interviewer and the other one is the passenger. and then they take turns. Monitoring.
