Procedure

Lead In (7-10 minutes) • Setting the context

Firstly introduce myself. T tells ss that were going to watch a short video; elicit/what do you think the subject matter is. 3mins Ask whole class what the video was about: holidays- CCQ/MFP this on the board with ss. After get ss to talk in pw; what do you like doing during holidays. 3 mins. WGFB to see what common answers are. 1 min.

Exposure stage (5 minutes) • Gist listening.

3A Play the recording and ask ss to match each person to an advert. CCQ MFP of key words with ss.

Detailed listening (5-10 minutes) • To gain specific information. Clarification of Language

3B T to Get the ss to listen to the conversations again and answer the questions. After recording WGFB to check the answers. Clarification of Language CCQ and Elicit key words.

Grammar exercise (5 minutes) • Finding sentences with future tense

Give the typescript of 3 conversations to ss. Ask them to find 5 sentences in the future tense. 3 mins When ss are finished tell them to discuss the difference in meaning in pw. 2 mins

Controlled practice (5 minutes) • Grammar practice

while ss are in pw T writes 5 future tense statements from the script on WB. The taxis picking me up at 7. I m hoping to visit a few places. There might be some building work.
