Procedure (36-48 minutes)
-Teacher will show a video about cycling -Teacher will elicit the word "Cycling" from the students
-Teacher will set the reading activity (Tell them this text is about cycling) -Set time limit 3 minutes to read for gist -Ask students to read the text quickly and predict the title of the text -While reading teacher will show 3 choices of the titles -Teacher will ask students to discuss as a group and choose the best title for the text (1min) -Teacher will receive an open class feedback from each group separately -Teacher will say the correct answer
-Teacher will show the text using OHP -Teacher ask students to guess the meaning of the highlighted words through a matching activity -Set students in pairs -Handout the matching activity -Ask them to check as a group -Show the matching task using OHP -Nominate students to the white board to answer the task
-Regrouping using colored papers coding -Set students in pairs -Ask the students to read the text for detail and answer the 7 questions about it -Ask them to check their answers as a group -Handout the answer key
-Set the activity by telling the students that I'm Egyptian and i want to know which places is good for cycling in Turkey -Show the letter on the white board using OHP -Set students in pairs -Ask the students to write a letter to recommend good cycling places for using the layout on the board -Give the students some prompts ( Is cycling popular in Turkey? Where is the best city for cycling? When is the best time to go to this place? Why?
-Ask Students to stand up and post their letters on the wall -Ask them to mingle and read each others letters -Ask them which place i should go and when and why
