Description

In this lesson, Students will learn some vocabulary while listening.The lesson will start by asking some question about food especially local dishes(controlled speaking practice).First students will listen to the listening and will try to get the gist(semi-controlled speaking practice).Then,the listening will be played for second time and students will work in pairs and choose the appropriate vocabulary while they're listening.At the end,students will discuss different kind of local dishes.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

This is lead - in activity to activate the class at the start of the session and engage Ss attention in the topic of the lesson which is 'local dishes' . First, I will pair the Ss and ask them to talk about their favorite and local food.Ss will be discussing the question in pairs for two minutes. Questions: what is your favorite food? Do you have any local dishes? what are they? What is the cooking instruction?

Pre-Reading/Listening (10-12 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

First,I will pre teach or elicit the new words and especially blocking words of listening.Before following M-F-P, I wil show them some picture to explain the meaning of the vocabulary better. Then,Students will watch a movie about international food and how to cook them.It gives them some ideas that they can use them in their discussion.

While-Reading/Listening #1 (10-12 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading/listening tasks

The listening will played once and students will listen to get the gist and try to answer 1 or 2 simple question about listening

While-Reading/Listening #2 (14-16 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference reading/listening tasks

The listening will be played for second time.Students should listen carefully and they will answer the questions in pairs.Then,i will check the answers.

Post-Reading/Listening (8-10 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned

Students will discuss their local dishes and compare their food with international food.And they will explain their opinion about the short movie they were watched.
