Description

In this lesson, Ss talk about their memorable nights.First, the lesson starts by projecting a picture that might helps the Ss to generate some useful words for the lesson. Second, the teacher will have the Ss to do messing words exercise, Third, Ss will lesson to the answers key. Then, drill them with the teacher. Third, Ss will write about their memorable night by using the questions in the exercise.Finally, Ss will interview each other's stories.

Main Aims

  • To provide accuracy speaking practice in a Conversation in the context of memorable night.

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide product writing practice of a paragraph

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Engage ss by asking them to have a look at the picture of someone had a memorable day. Try to get them ask questions about the pic by using simple past tense.

Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide a model of production expected in coming tasks through reading/listening

First, project the exercise on the board before giving the Ss the handouts, and ask them to guess the missing word with their partner in one minute. Second, ask them to check their answer from the answers key on the walls. Third, play the audio of the answers key and get the Ss to listen to the rhythm of the questions. then play the audio again and get them to drill.

Useful Language (4-5 minutes) • To highlight and clarify useful language for coming productive tasks

Project the picture of the memorable night again. Get the Ss to ask you the same questions that they had from the previous activity.

Productive Task(s) (18-20 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills

Ask the Ss to think about a time they had a memorable night in 30 seconds.Then, have them to look back to the questions from the previous exercise and plan their answers accordingly in 5 minutes.Monitor the class and help them when they need.Then, put the Ss in pairs, and get As to give Bs a complete interview and then to swap the roles.Ask the Ss to have the interview with other partners.

Feedback and Error Correction (8-10 minutes) • To provide feedback on students' production and use of language

Have the feedback from the Ss by asking having some volunteers to act their interview in front of other Ss.
