Procedure (41-51 minutes)
Put a chair in front of the students .Describe the chair by saying adjectives . Example ; big chair ,wooden chair......etc. Then ask them to use as many adjectives to describe it. Write all what they say in a diagram on the board. Divide students into two groups and ask them to write as many adjectives to describe the words ( flat and car) on the board. the winner group will write the most adjectives.
Ask students about things which they think are typically American.
Ask students to match pictures with their names in pairs. Check their answers.
Write down all the new vocabulary on the board.Drill in groups after you demonstrate the right pronunciation. explain meaning and form. Ask CCQ.
Ask students to answer Ex. 1a in pairs. Then write a clear feedback on the board .Then, ask students for peer correction . Ask students to do Ex. 3a in pairs after you demo. Then give them a clear feed back.
Ask students to look at the picture in Ex.3c. Ask them generally to elicit some vocabulary from what's in the picture . Demo to ask ss to form adjective / noun phrases in pairs. Ex. a poor man . old men. Listening : Ask students to write the sentences they hear. Then, give them a clear feedback.
Ball game. Ask every student to say an adjective while throwing the ball to another one ,and the other student will say an adjective to form an adjective/noun phrase ,then the one with the ball says a noun and throw the ball to another one and so on.
