By the end of the lesson ss will have practiced the usage of different phrases for comparison in the context 0of cities in different countries and using the right adjectives with the comparative adjectives.
Subsidiary Aims

To provide practice and clarification in listening and phrases for comparison in the context of cities in different countries. To practice speaking using comparison phrases
Procedure (31-44 minutes)
Hang pictures of Hong Kong and Moscow on the board then ask ss what they know about these two cities, elicit from them and then give ss some information about the the two cities in two sentences comparing them now and in the past time, after that ask student to look at their lesson handout and read the the two texts on both pictures.
Ask ss to look at exercise no.2 and read the phrases in the box then listen to the audio, after they finish listening to the audio I'll ask ss to answer exercise no.2 individually then check their answers in pairs followed by an open feedback.
Ask students CCQs then answer exercise no.2(b) individually then discuss their answers in groups followed by an open feedback. After that I'll start clarifying and introducing the TL, I'll put the form on the board using a sentence from the audio track or any other sentence I elicit from ss and start teaching the correct form and check understanding using CCQs, then I'll ask students to answer exercise no.3 individually then check in pairs, after that I'll handout the key answer to all students.
Ask ss to answer an Analysis sheet individually then check their answers in pairs after that I'll handout an answer key for this activity after an open feedback for correction. After that I'll ask students to look at two pictures and tell me the difference between them and read exercise no.1 (a) then listen to the audio track for answers, check in pairs followed by an open feedback.
Ask ss to work in pairs and answer exercise no.1(b) then ask other students about their answers as well.
Ask students to think about their town or the place they grew up in now and at some point in the past and make sentences using comparative phrases then compare with other students in open pairs, they can mingle and ask each other.
