Description

In this lesson students practice speaking fluency on the topic of "a ghost story".The lesson starts with a short speaking activity to guess the meaning of 'a ghost story' and continues with another speaking activity.The lesson ends with a free speaking practice.

Main Aims

  • To provide fluency speaking practice in a topic of "Tell a ghost story".

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide clarification of publishing lexis in the context of "Tell a ghost story".
  • To provide clarification of specific information and detailed listening in the context of a ghost story.

Procedure

Lead in. (4-5 minutes) • To generate interest in the topic of the lesson.

I will start the lesson by writing on the board( a ghost story) and tell the students work in pairs to discuss this phrase.Then we will discuss the topic with each other .

Useful language . (4-5 minutes) • To provide Ls with useful language for the task.

I will ask the students to work in pairs to match the pictures with its suitable phrases. Burned-out house. some of ruins. A newspaper headline. Thick fog. Isolated house. An elderly couple. Someone offering to pay. A restaurant owner.

preparation. (4-5 minutes) • To give Ls time to prepare ideas on the topic.

The students will work together. to order the story before listening to the original one.

Task. (5-7 minutes) • To give Ls time to speak.

The students will work in groups to discuss the questions' answer.They can write notes using the useful language box. (They should write only short notes). ICQ You have to write the full story? No, just short notes.

Listening Task. (5-6 minutes) • To give Ls time to listen.

The students will listen to the original story .After that they will discuss their story with the original one.

Feedback. (5-6 minutes) • To praise good use of the TL.To correct errors in TL use.

From monitoring I will notice the strengths and weaknesses and correct it on the board and praising the good use of TL.
