Procedure (43-55 minutes)
i will write few words on the board with the new digraphs and ask the students if they know any similar words. any words given by the students will be written on the board as well.
after the warm up, the new spelling words which are ( chick, much, teacher, much, pitch, hatch, cheese, stretch, thick, pathway, them, fish, whales, what) will be written on the board, students will be reading the words out load
after pronunciation is provide to the students, i will clarify the meaning and the form of the new words whether they are verbs, nouns or adjectives.
first practice will be like a dictation, the words will be written on the side of the paper, i will ask the students to fold the side where the words are written so they don't look while writing, after they finish, they will unfold and check for themselves
students will be working on a different activity this time, where they have to write all the similar words together with the new digraphs of course, for example: ch_ _ch_ th_ _th
in this practice, students will have to match the news words with their definitions or complete a messing sentence with one of the new words,. after they finish, i will have the students check their answers together, then i will write the correct answers on the board.
